MCI™ (Multi-Cluster Ionization) from Doug Hoffman on Vimeo.

The versatile ceiling mounted unit is designed to improve indoor air quality by dealing with pollutants in a proactive way. The MCI™ SilentCeiling produces aggressive ionized oxidizers and multi-cluster ions that are then distributed throughout the entire room then circulated, quietly, on a continual basis, scrubbing the air and surfaces of all microbials.

This trademarked MCI™ (Multi-cluster Ionization) Technology, using an enhanced output, represents the newest generation of proactive air purification, is completely safe, and unlike high levels of ozone, effectively destroys mold, mildew, bacteria, viruses, odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and the odors associated with them in the air and on surfaces.

When used as part of a wholistic solutions protocol, the MCI™ SilentCeiling provides a comfortable indoor air environment. This particular air purifier is designed to cover up to approximately 3000 cubic feet of living space so it is perfect for a small bedroom or office. Nearly silent, this unit does its work without noise.

NOTE: This unit is the air purifier ONLY and does not include the 4" duct or supply register necessary to complete the installation. See "ADD-ON PARTS" for details on supply register considerations.

Drywall Ceiling Installation: This unit can be installed in a drywalled ceiling by cutting an 11"x11" square opening next to a rafter and attaching the MCI Silent Ceiling to the rafter. Connect a 4" flex duct (see "ADD-ON PARTS") to your choice of supply registers (see "ADD-ON PARTS"), connect the power (110v power source) and the installation is complete.

Drop-in Ceiling Installation: This unit can be installed in either a 24"x24" or 24"x48" sheet of 3/4" White Melamine Panel (see http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-3-4-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-White-Melamine-Panel-461877/100070209) by cutting an 11"x11" square opening next to a rafter and attaching the MCI Silent Ceiling to the panel. Connect a 4" flex duct (see "ADD-ON PARTS") to your choice of supply registers (see "ADD-ON PARTS") installed in the panel, connect the power (110v power source), drop in the "T" channel grid and the installation is complete.

ADD-ON PARTS: Needed to complete these installations and NOT a part of the purchase of this unit are the following items available at your local hardware store or HVAC supplier:

    1. 4"x6' (or longer) semi-rigid flex duct (similiar to http://www.homedepot.com/p/Deflect-o-8-ft-Semi-Rigid-Aluminum-Duct-A048-20-A/202305920 for ca. $12).
    2. A pair of 4" Metal Worm Drive Clamps (similiar to http://www.homedepot.com/p/Deflect-o-4-in-Metal-Worm-Drive-Clamps-2-pack-MCX4/100209497 for ca. $4) to connect both ends of the flex duct, one to the MCI Silent Ceiling and one to the supply register of choice.
    3. A supply register/diffuser with a 4" connection. Two examples might be something as simple as a 4' Plastic Round Diffuser (similiar to http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-4-in-Plastic-Round-Diffuser-TFG4/202263018 for ca. $18) of something as fancy as the Airtec MVASW Antique Diffuser Grille for 4/5/6" Duct (similiar to http://www.amazon.com/AIRTEC-MVASW-Antique-Diffuser-Grille/dp/B0076OW47A/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1409176896&sr=8-5&keywords=airtec4%22+diffuser for ca. $40). See examples of each here in picture.
    1. Is MCI™ a trademarked technology?
YES, 01/01/2011, Best Living Systems, LLC first used the terminology and on 07/03/2012 was granted a US Federal Trademark Reg. No. 4,320,186 for the term MCI (Multi-Cluster Ionization)™
    2. Has this technology been recognized by any national organization as effective?
YES, in January 2013, ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) recognized this pro-active technology with an honorable mention Innovative Award at the ASHRAE International Conference in New York City, NY.
    3. How is this technology different from traditional filters?
MCI (Multi-Cluster Ionization)™ is NOT passive but a pro-active technology that sends oxidizing agents (WITHOUT ozone) to kill microbes on surfaces and in the air. Its unique ability to reduce particulates as well as biologicals has been proven through both field and clinical studies. These studies are available by request.
    4. Does this technology produce ozone?
The MCI (Multi-Cluster Ionization)™ trademark covers a wide array of equipment which incorporates a variety of components depending on the specific application for which the equipment was made. In some cases ozone producing lamps are utilized (for unoccupied space) but most technologies use virtually no ozone to produce the kill mechanism associated with the trademark.
